MasterCard Foundation Scholarship

Applications are now open for the 2026–2027 Mastercard Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships at the University of Rwanda.

The programme will select 30 scholars for eligible two-year Master’s programmes and is open to qualified Rwandans and other African nationals facing significant economic or social barriers. 

Priority is given to women, applicants in STEM, refugees and displaced youth, and persons with disabilities. 

Scholarship benefits

✅ Return travel to the scholar’s home country, where necessary

✅ Academic mentorship and psychosocial support

✅ Leadership and entrepreneurship training

✅ Internship and career-development opportunities

These benefits are provided alongside academic and personal support throughout the programme. 

Continuing University of Rwanda students are not eligible.
